GOD CONVERT'S AN AGNOSTIC

In an attempt to know God, David had often gone to various religious organizations to see what they were all about, but never found what he was looking for. He was now homeless and desperatly needed work to provide for his two kids and himself. In desperation he prayed to God and told him "If you will provide a job for me I will change my life and will dedicate it to you".

About five minutes latter a young man walked up to him and handed him a piece of paper with a phone number on it. He told him to call the number and a job would be provided. So he called the number and found himself working on a construction job laying a foundation with several Christian men.

While he was there he met a man named Bobby. Now Bobby likes to talk to people about Jesus, so much so that he will often asked complete strangers "do you know who Jesus is". However, Bobby had not yet seen any results for all his efforts and was feeling rather down about it. While Bobby was helping lay the foundation, the Lord spoke to him "Do you want to see what an increase is !". Bobby answered "SURE", "then go talk to the new man on the job, "David".

So, he went and started a conversation with David asking him "Do you know who Jesus is ?". At first David thought that he was just another religious nut and told Bobby that he was an athiest. So after a few minutes of dicussing their beliefs Bobby went away feeling depressed and wondering if he had really heard from the Lord. He did not give up though and kept talking to him about the Lord and what he believed.

Finally David confided in him what he had prayed and how God had answered his prayer. A few days latter, Bobby prayed with David and his two kids to accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. They later received the Baptism of Jesus in the Holy Spirit(See below Luke 3:16 / Acts 11:16, 10:44-47) and were place among God's people, so they could have there needs met and come to a better knowledge of who God is.

LUKE 3:16 John answered, saying to them all, "I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier that I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

ACTS 11:16 Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, 'John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit'.

ACTS 11:44 - 46 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word. And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. Then Peter answered, Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have ?

1 CORINTHIANS 2:4-5 "And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God."
