My name is Ben and I was an alcholic. I want to stress that I was for 34 years. For most of that time I wanted to quit drinking. I kept trying and trying going to different rehabilitation centers voluntarily but nothing was working. I went to inpatient and outpatient clinics. Nothing worked then I really got it into my heart that I wanted to quit. I was going to a church and the last time I got a DUI for drunk driving I was court ordered to a rehabilitation center. I didn't want to go but I knew I would have to. So I asked for prayer to be delivered from the bondage of alchol. It seemed like the next day I lost all desire to drink and have never had it since. It was still necessary to go to the rehabilitation center. However, by going I had the chance to minister to them that the Holy Spirit could help them quit. They allowed me to do this because it was a Catholic run place. It's been two years now almost, 21 months, since I have been set free from alcohol.

2 CORINTHIANS 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new"

EPH 5:18-19 "Do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord"

ACTS 2:15-21 "For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: 'And it shall come to pass in the last days, say God, that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams. And on my menservants and on my maidservants I will pour out my Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy. I will show wonders in heaven above and signs in the earth beneath: Blood and fire and vapor of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and notable day of the Lord. And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of Lord shall be saved.'
