Bread upon the Waters

I have been having financial problems for many years. When I first
became a Christian I heard so many stories about how God had provided for
many Christians who had financial problems. However, I never had the
faith to tithe. I had made friends with Christians in my church who
told me about the wonderful way that God had provided for them through
tithing.

Then God showed me Deuteronomy 28 (NIV) “1 If you fully obey the LORD
your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the
LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. 2 All
these blessings will come upon you and accompany you if you obey the LORD
your God.”
I pondered these verses for a time and God revealed to me
that I needed to be obedient to him I order to be blessed. That meant
not only obeying His Word, but obeying Him when he spoke to me, even if
I thought it was not something that I would not ordinarily do.

When the Lord spoke to me and told me to move from my mother’s house,
I did. He had provided the financial means to do it. I did not
hesitate. I was blessed with a beautiful rental abode in a nice area for a
real deal on expenses.

The following month I had written out a money order to my landlord when
God told me to tithe it and someone would pay my rent. I obeyed and
was blessed the day before my rent was due with a deposit of the rental
amount into my debit account plus $600 more!

God is faithful and His Word is true. It took awhile for me to trust
God and my prayer is that you will be able to trust him, too.
