Signs of The Times
The previous Bible excerpt taken from Matthew Chapter: 24
(Contemporary English Version) speaks of the signs of the coming of Jesus and of
the end of the world. Written some two thousand years ago, these words
hold a very special meaning for me. I had an encounter with some of the
people spoken of in these passages. I witnessed “flesh and blood”
fulfillment of what was said to happen. Prior to my encounter I was not
willing to believe wholeheartedly in the Bible and Jesus. In a testimony
to the Bible and Jesus I would like to share my experience as a witness
to the Signs of The Times.
I was a young man with an upbringing in The Church. I had heard of
the “Second Coming of Christ” and “The End of the World.” At the time
these were just “quotes” that I had heard. I did not know the Bible, but
I was at the point in my life, growing up, that had me wondering about
God. I was searching for “meaning” in my life and had been trying to
“clean my act up.” A friend of mine was staying with me during this
period. He and I were trying to avoid the pitfalls of doing drugs. I was
helping him and I guess I was the closest thing to a “Christian” that
he had known.
I was working part time and attending Community College. I was on my
way home from work one night and decided to stop and buy a new set of
sheets for my bed. When I got to my apartment, I was surprised to find
two girls sitting on the living room floor with my friend. The girls
were only wearing sheets sown into robes. My friend proceeded to tell
me that he had met them on the Bus earlier in the day. They began to
tell me that they were “The Children of Christ” and that they were
walking from Florida on their way to the desert of Arizona. They said,
“Jesus” was “in the desert.” My friend had told them that I was a
“Christian” and they said they wanted to meet me. The girls explained that
“Jesus” was gathering “his children” together before the “End of the
World.” I was listening intently because I had heard something like this
before. My interest was aroused by this time as they inquired about
what was in the bag I had brought home that night. Interestingly eno!
ugh, when I was shopping for sheets I had a hard time deciding what to
buy. I had decided on plain white sheets. When I showed them the
sheets, they said, “that was no coincidence, you bought those white sheets
so we could sew you up a robe and you could become one of us.” WOW,
all this was just too much. Was this encounter a prelude to what I was
searching for? I was convinced it was!
By the end of that night I was ready to go “see Jesus.” The doctrine
the girls used had just enough “truth” to make me believe this was my
salvation. My searching was over and I was willing to do whatever it
took to get to Arizona. I had decided to drive us there. I was ready to
quit my job, withdraw all of my savings from the bank and go. It was
somewhat disturbing that my friend was told that he was not ready and
could not go with us. Oh well, I was ready and that was all that
mattered. Early that next morning I was on the phone with my work, friends,
and family explaining that I had found my salvation. While on the phone,
without me knowing it, my friend had taken my keys and driven off with
my car. In the meantime my work, friends, and family had a chance to
get together and try to figure out what was going on. My older brother
showed up soon enough to try and talk some sense into me. As I talked
to him the girls would always be right there to defend themselve!
s. Finally, my brother asked me to go for a ride with him. He said
that: if I could explain what was going on without the girls present then
he would support me. The Girls said that: if I went with him then I
could not go with them. I was confused, and began to realize something
was not right. My brother helped me kick them out. Even with them gone
I still had to struggle with the fact that I might have missed my
“salvation.”
Over the next few days my spirit was under attack. I could not sleep
at night as I was seeing and hearing what is best described as
“demons.” I heard, “you missed it, you could have been saved but now your
doomed.” I was scared to say the least. I was trying to keep it together,
and continue life as usual. While in the cafeteria at the College I
was attending, a miracle happened. A young man I did not know came up
and handed me a pocket New Testament. He said; “God told me to give this
to you.” I took it and later that night I was reading and came across
Matthew Chapter: 24. How could it be? Exactly what I had experienced
was written there! The confusion vanished! I was no longer scared! I
had truly found what I had been searching for! I must have cried for
hours. I was prostrate before the Lord and He met me. The words: “they
will even try to fool God’s chosen ones.” stuck out in my mind. GOD
HAD CHOSEN ME! The miracle was just beginning!
I began to grow in the Lord as He led and began reading more of the
Bible. More fulfilling of the scripture was revealed as in 1Timothy
Chapter: 4; “God's Spirit clearly says that in the last days many people
will turn from their faith. They will be fooled by evil spirits and by
teachings that come from demons. They will also be fooled by the false
claims of liars whose consciences have lost all feeling. These liars
will forbid people to marry or to eat certain foods.” (Contemporary
English Version) What was fulfilled is what the girls stated to be their
doctrine for living. While at my apartment they stated that the keys to
Heaven were; “Don’t get married or have sexual relations and don’t eat
meat, because animals are part of God’s creation.” All of the signs
revealed to me have had to do with the last days and the Second Coming
of Jesus. Yet there was to be another fulfillment of scripture
revealed. It involved another encounter with girls in white robes. Thi!
s time there was a man with two girls whom I met up with walking the
streets. They had a written manifesto with them explaining how that
“Jesus Christ Lightning Amen” (The name assumed by this false Christ) was
in the desert of Arizona “just as the lightning shines in the east and
is now also in the west.” Of course, this scripture was miss quoted to
suit their needs to deceive.
Jesus Christ Lightning Amen was responsible for the inspirational
conversion of a famous musician as explained to me by the man in the white robe.
The famous musician's music had become “inspired” due to being locked up in a
recording studio with him. The first thing that came to mind was in
Matthew Chapter: 24; “And if you are told that he is in some secret place,
don't believe it!” The second thing was 1Timothy Chapter: 4; “They
will be fooled by evil spirits and by teachings that come from demons.
They will also be fooled by the false claims of liars whose consciences
have lost all feeling.” As hard as I tried I could not convince these
“Children of Christ” that they were being deceived. The man and two
girls became enraged and left before their lies could be exposed.
The Light expels darkness and you cannot see unless it is shining.
All of these signs of the times could not have been shone to me without
God’s Light. I will forever praise The Lord for allowing me to see.
What I have seen could best be described as warning signs. A warning
sign is placed in the path of danger ahead of time. Jesus said; “But I
have warned you ahead of time.” On numerous occasions while discussing
the state of the World, it has been asked of me; “What is the World
coming to?” My answer has been; “An abrupt end!”
